The PDF metadata editor reads and rewrites the document properties stored inside a PDF: title, author, subject, keywords, creator, and producer. When you load a file, the tool shows the values currently embedded in it, along with the creation and modification dates, so you can review what a document reveals before you change or clear it.
Editing metadata is useful for correcting an author or title before sharing, adding keywords that help software index a file, or scrubbing details that leak information about who produced a document and with what software. Clear a field to remove its value, or type new text to replace it, then save an updated copy.
All processing happens locally in your browser using pdf-lib — the file is never uploaded, so it stays private and the tool works offline once loaded. On save, the modification date is refreshed to the current time while the original creation date is preserved. This tool changes the document information dictionary only; it does not alter the page content, and it cannot edit metadata inside an encrypted PDF that requires a password to open.
